Beveridge: Yizkor Requiem
Mendelssohn: Psalms
Composed in memory of his late father by New Dominion Chorale's Artistic Director, Thomas Beveridge, Yizkor Requiem is a beautiful blending of spiritual traditions, offering a consoling and uplifting message to all who've experienced loss. It has been performed all over the world, and was recorded by both the Choral Arts Society of Washington and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields.
Handel: Messiah
Messiah is the most beloved and performed choral work of all time, composed in only three weeks by George Frideric Handel. Premiered in Dublin in 1742, it was written in English, perhaps leading to its great popularity in both England and America. A favorite of audiences everywhere, it's a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays!
Brahms: Liebeslieder Waltzes
Orff: Carmina Burana
In celebration of New Dominion Chorale's 35th Anniversary, we present some of our favorite, lighter works: a selection of Brahms' delightful choral waltzes based on a collection of folk songs and love poems, and Orff's 1936 joyful, popular work, based on secular poems written by itinerant, 13th century monks, celebrating fortune, spring, dancing, drinking, gamboling and most of all, love.
